February 19 State Assembly members Ash Kalra, Alex Lee, and Miguel Santiago introduced AB1400, aka CalCare, which would establish a single-payer healthcare system in California. On April 14 the Culver City Democratic Club heard from Ryan Skolnick, representing the California Nurses Association, a major advocate for the bill, in a dialogue with CCDC Vice President Jeanna Harris, also a nurse.
