Dear Members, Friends & Allies,

As we rapidly approach the midterms, we must ask ourselves: “What have I done, what am I doing, and what am I prepared to do to move the needle of change in the direction of Liberty And Justice For All?”

We are all participating in every way we feel we can. We protest. We donate. We have come together as concerned citizens. We talk to friends and family. By now we are all bombarded by so many emails and texts from every possible political organization that it has become difficult to find the minority of messages that actually are essential to maintaining our personal/business lives.

We are mentally and emotionally exhausted. We are bordering on burn-out. Somedays it feels like the constant and overlapping news cycles all wash over us at such depth and breadth that it seems like we will surely drown in the sea of propaganda and divisiveness.

But the coming election is “Game Day” and we need to reach into our inner political athlete and find the strength to up our game, if possible, to help push the goals of fairness and democracy across the finish line of the Midterms.

To serve that end, this month’s newsletter is designed to help hone your focus. We all need to hone our plans for how to invest our limited resources: time, energy and any money we may have to devote. We will not be able to do everything, so we need to focus on what each of us can do best to achieve our best results.

The people we need to reach the most are not easy. They are the ones who are not our friends. They may not even be our neighbors — so not geographically desirable. We don’t think alike, and may not speak the same language. It will, in many cases, require us to move outside our comfort zones. We can reinforce ourselves by digging deep into our convictions and by working in tandem or within teams.

We need to find it in our hearts to not condemn or insult the people we hope to win over. That is not how to win friends or influence people. For “We the People” to ever to include Everyone, we need to start with us, showing that we can give the respect to others that we ALL deserve.

I realize that I am preaching to the choir. So, this is not a tutorial as much as a reminder and a pep-talk. This is a friendly nudge: to make an action plan; create a check-list; identify an accountability buddy.

To assist with this process, this issue has informational reminders on how you can focus your energies (you already know this, but…):

To Get The Vote Out, we need focus and solidarity!
